The Mayor, Councillor Billy Ashe said: “We are facilitating ‘fan zones’ for the Northern Ireland games at three of our council locations, the McNeill Theatre at Larne Leisure Centre, the Des Allen Suite within the Ballymena Showgrounds and the Jubilee Hall at Carrickfergus Town Hall.

“These big screen broadcasts of the major games are all indoor events so no matter what the weather, should be great for everyone who wants to cheer on the international team during the prestigious Euros.

“These are family-friendly events with food and refreshments kiosks and even special fun ‘penalty kick’ competitions for supporters to enjoy in the build up to the game and also during the half time break.

“Irrespective of the score line, I expect these events to be very successful and enjoyable and therefore likely to be heavily subscribed.

“They are free of charge but ticketed with several locations across the Borough where fans can access these,” said Cllr Ashe.

The details of the games are as follows:

Northern Ireland vs Poland – Sunday, June 12 at 5pm; Northern Ireland vs Ukraine – Thursday, June 16 at 5pm; Northern Ireland vs Germany – Tuesday, June 21.

All matches kick off at 5pm and Fan zones open from 4.30pm.
