Counterfeit car products probe - two charged
Detectives from Organised Crime Branch have charged a 47-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman who were arrested in Ballymena on Thursday as part of an investigation into counterfeit car products, with counterfeiting and trademark offences and money laundering.
They are due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 11.
Speaking on Friday afternoon, the Officer leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Todd Clements, said: “This proactive investigation was launched after a complaint by car manufacturer BMW. Following a number of searches yesterday in Ballymena, Belfast and Portstewart police have secured restraining orders on assets worth more than £1 million.”
