Course to help with household finances

Ballymena residents are being offered help to get on top of their household finances with a free course being run by a local church.

In association with UK charity ‘Christians Against Poverty’, Harryville Presbyterian Church is offering the short course aimed at teaching people how to chart their household income and take control of their expenditure - an increasingly vital skill in today’s economic climate. Money coach Alison Chestnutt, who will be leading the CAP Money course, said: “If your new year’s resolution is to get in control of your finances then this course is for you.

“It will teach you how to save and budget effectively, which will have a hugely positive impact on the whole family.”

The church together is one of 1,000 churches of different Christian traditions throughout the United Kingdom regularly offering the course, as they work together to positively impact the communities around them.

Alison added: “We hope that we can help people take control of their situation rather than relying on guess work so they live confidently in the present and plan for the future.”

The three-week course begins on Monday, January 26, in Harryville Presbyterian Church Hall and is open to all.
