Armed robbery in Portglenone

Shortly before 8.45pm, it was reported that a masked man entered the shop armed with a knife and threatened a female member of staff.

The woman was not injured but a sum of money was taken during the incident and the man made off on foot.

He is described as being 5”10 tall, of thin build, and was wearing dark blue jeans, a black jacket with green trim and a black cap.

Enquiries are continuing and police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact Ballymena CID on 0845 600 8000.
