Assault witnesses sought

AN appeal has been issued by police for witnesses to an assault in the Broughshane Street area at around 6.40pm on Saturday, September 3, to come forward.

It was reported to them that an 18-year-old man was attacked by three unknown males. He was punched before being pulled to the ground and kicked.

The man received bruising and a swollen eye in the attack.

One of the attackers is described as being approximately 20 years old of slim build with dark spiked hair wearing a light grey hooded top and black track bottoms. Another is described as being approximately 20 years old of slim build with short hair wearing a bright green waist length zipped jacket.

A police spokesman said that an 18 year old man arrested at the time has been released on Police bail pending further enquiries.
