Police in Ballymena carried out a number of searches in Ballymena under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Thursday afternoon.

The searches were made in the Ballykeel area and police arrested a 24 year old man on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs and possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply as a result of the searches.

He has since been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

Police seized sums of cash in two houses, a mobile phone and other items suspected to have been used in the supply of drugs during the searches.
