Police are appealing for information following an arson attack on a house in Church Street, Ahoghill, at approximately 2am on Sunday 2nd August 2015.
Constable Glenn, the investigating officer, said: “Flammable liquid was poured through the letterbox of the property and a glass bottle with a rag in it, ignited and placed on the front door step. Luckily the occupants of the house came across the fire before it had time to spread. As a result the fire caused scorch damage to the front door.
“A window was broken during an earlier incident at the property which was also reported to police. A motive has not yet been established.
“Anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity or persons in the area at this time are asked to contact Detectives at Ballymena PSNI on the non-emergency number 101 or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak with them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
