Jonathan Rea loses training bikes during burglary

World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea has appealed for the public’s help in finding training bikes and gardening equipment stolen from his garden shed.

In a Twitter message at lunchtime on Monday, the six-times world champion said bikes belonging to his children were also taken.

The message said: “STOLEN!! Last night thieves broke into my garden shed and stole my training bikes and kids bike along with garden equipment!

“Please help me to get these bikes back!”

Rea lives in the Templepatrick area with wife Tatia and sons Jake (7) and Tyler (5).

He clinched his sixth successive world title at Estoril in Portugal last month.

A further Twitter message, along with a picture of young Jake’s first bike which has been taken, said: “Poor Jakes first PW. This one is fully customised so easily recognisable!”
