Charges against two Belfast men relating to an armed robbery in Ballymena last year have been withdrawn.
Jonathan Lyttle (35), of Knocknagoney Drive, and Thomas James Porter (39), of Ainsworth Street, had been accused of possessing a firearm, a pistol, with intent to endanger life or property; carrying a firearm with intent to commit an offence; aggravated burglary and theft; grievous bodily harm with intent; and common assault.
Porter was further charged with dangerous driving; failing to stop at the scene of an accident; failing to remain at the scene; and failing to report an accident.
The charges related to an incident at Moat Road on November 28, in which cash to the value of £2,000 was stolen.
At Ballymena Magistrates Court last week, a Public Prosecution Service lawyer said all charges against both defendants were to be withdrawn.
