New area commander arrives inBallymena

CHIEF INSPECTOR John Magill has been appointed as the Police Service’s new Area Commander for Ballymena and Larne.

Chief Inspector Magill has 15 years service and previously served as Area Commander for Ballymoney and Moyle. Over the years he worked in a number of roles in Response, CID, Crime Operations and Criminal Justice departments.

Speaking about his new appointment, Chief Inspector Magill said he is delighted to be looking after both areas and is very much looking forward to getting to know the community and his new colleagues.

“Policing has really moved forward in the last number of years and with the introduction of Our Policing Commitments, we are reinforcing at every level the need for a personal, professional and protective service to you, the public.
