Police renew Carniny burglary appeal

Detectives investigating an aggravated burglary in the Carniny Road area of Ballymena are again appealing from information from members of the public.

Police have charged one man with burglary and grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident, but are asking people to continue to come forward as the investigation is very much ongoing.

The incident occurred in the Carniny Road area in the early hours of Thursday 19 September. It is believed that entry was gained to a house at around 1.30am and the occupant’s black Audi A3 car VRM DRZ 2707 taken and driven through the Broughshane area.

The males involved are then thought to have returned to the house, where they were disturbed by the owner at around 3am. The male homeowner was struck with a metal object to the head sustaining injuries that required hospital treatment.
