Report crimes promptly- police

POLICE in Ballymena are reminding residents in the borough of the importance of promptly reporting incidents that raise their suspicions.

Inspector John Allen says: “There is no doubt that local residents are best placed to know what activity is out of the ordinary and what vehicles parked in the street do not belong to householders in the area. It is this information coupled with the prompt reporting of incidents to the police that will not just deter criminals but will also help us to catch them in the act.”

“Criminals will find it increasingly difficult to operate in the borough if they know that their every move is being watched; but it is equally important for everyone to prevent crime by reducing the opportunities criminals have to steal or to damage property.

“If you see anything that raises your suspicions remember to write down the description of those involved and where possible the registration number of any vehicles used.

“Don’t hesitate to get in touch. By doing so you could prevent a crime from taking place,” the Inspector said.
