Currie seeks return of cash machine to Kells

BALLYMENA Borough Council is to write to the Bank of Ireland appealing for the reinstatement of their cash machine in Kells.

The ATM was stolen some months ago and at last Monday night’s Council meeting, Cllr James Currie said it was high time a replacement was organised for the village.

Mr Currie said he had been contacted by a number of residents who “found it quite awkward” without an ATM in their midst and proposed that the letter of request be sent to the bank.

The councillor pointed out that, should the bank deem it necessary to secure the machine with reinforced concrete, there were plenty of local contractors who would be willing to do the work.
