A lucky diner in Fratelli Galgorm got more than just his favourite food when he dined there during the first week of June.
As well as enjoying his favourite Italian food at the restaurant, which is part of the award-winning Galgorm resort and Spa, Derek Dunlop also won a trip to the home of fabulous Italian fare, Rome.
The trip for two was part of Fratelli’s plans to celebrate the National Day of Italy on June 2.
The competition, which took place across both the Galgorm-based Fratelli and its sister restaurant on Belfast’s Great Victoria Street, was open to anyone who ate in either of the restaurants from June 1-7, and was supported by Jet2 and Rosetta Travel.
As a resident of the Galgorm area 38-year-old Derek, is a Fratelli regular and was stunned when he heard he’d won the trip.
“Living as close as we do, we’re often in Fratelli as well as Gillies restaurant at the Galgorm Resort & Spa. I couldn’t believe it when I heard I’d won and my wife is as delighted as I am!
“We are very much looking forward to jetting off, and the menu at Fratelli has given us a real flavour for Italian dishes so food will play a big part in this holiday.”
Georgie Briota, Manager at Fratelli Galgorm said the team at the restaurant were thrilled the prize had been won in Ballymena
“What better way to celebrate the National Day of Italy than to offer our diners the chance to jet off to the Italian Capital for a fantastic break for two people? Everyone who dined at both Fratelli restaurants during the first week in June was automatically entered into the draw for the competition for this amazing trip.
“We couldn’t be happier for Derek and look forward to hearing all about his break the next time he dines with us here at Fratelli Galgorm.
Fratelli is part of the Tullymore House Group, the company behind Northern Ireland’s award-winning Galgorm Resort and Spa and the £12 million Bedford hotel development in Belfast city centre, which is due to open late next year in the iconic Scottish Mutual building.
A major extension to the Ballymena-based Galgorm Resort and Spa is expected to be completed in September of this year with an additional 48 bedrooms, a new leisure wing and extensive expansion to the outdoor Thermal facilities.
