Diamond Jubilee Service at St. Colmanell’s Ahoghill

A service of thanksgiving for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was held in St. Colmanell’s Church of Ireland, Ahoghill, on Sunday, June 3.

This was a joint service with Portglenone Parish, and was conducted by Canon K.E. Ruddock.

The Church had been beautifully decorated to create a mini flower festival, and the Choir sang the anthem ‘This earth belongs to God’.

Following the service, Canon Ruddock dedicated a red oak tree which had been planted in the grounds of St. Colmanell’s to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee.

The church was also open to the public between 2-4pm that afternoon when the flower arrangements were

enjoyed by a large number of visitors from the surrounding area.
