Taking place on May 22 at the Ecos Nature Park the event is ideal for anyone who would like to find out more about how it can help in the conservation of wild birds and increase the knowledge of bird migrations.

The event will take place between 10.30am and 1.30pm and is a great chance to get up close to birds, see wild birds being ringed and contribute to the conservation process.

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council Mayor, Cllr Billy Ashe commented: “We are very lucky to have a resource such as the Ecos Nature Park available as the variety of habitats in the park support a wide range of bird species, including some uncommon species.

“Bird ringing provides a unique opportunity to get up close to our wild birds, and see some of the beautiful colours and patterns that are not normally visible.”

This free event, which is being run as part of World Biodiversity Day 2015, is suitable for all ages and there is no need to book.
