Ee by gum! Wales says ‘bin the chewy’
Former Ballymena Mayor Audrey Wales has issued an appeal to gum chewers not to spit out the sticky confectionery on to town centre streets which have just been refurbished through the Public Realm Scheme.
Speaking out at last week’s November monthly meeting of Mid & East Antrim Council, Cr Wales said some newly paved sections were already littered with gum.
She appealed to people to show ‘gumption’ by “stop spitting out your chewing gum - find a bin to put it in”.
