Elderly man’s home ransacked

Police are investigating a burglary at the home of a man in his 80s in Crumlin.

The occupant was asleep in his Parkfield home when the property was entered and ransacked overnight.

Those responsible forced the back door to gain entry. They also entered an adjoining garage.

At this time it is not believed that anything has been taken.

Detective Sergeant Neil Maxwell said: “While the elderly resident was not hurt, awaking to discover that his house had been targeted has left him understandably shaken.

“We are keen to hear from anyone with information about this crime or anyone who was in Parkfield at any time overnight and who might have seen something that could help the investigation.”
