Entertaining night at Cullybackey WI

THE members of Cullybackey WI enjoyed an entertaining evening when they joined together for their recent monthly meeting.

They were treated to the talents of poet, William Livingstone, and musician, John Kennedy.

William recited a number of humorous poems inspired by local people and events and one Ulster Scots poem on cutting peat in the moss.

John played the tin whistle and rendered some well known pieces including Amazing Grace, Morning Has Broken and My love is like a red red rose as well as other Scottish tunes inspired by Burns.

The guests judged the monthly competition of a limerick which was won by Elizabeth McIlroy and 2nd Eleanor McIlory.

The birthday girl, Ann Jamison, was presented with a gift and new member, Noreen McKeown, was welcomed by President, Ruth Orr.
