Epic ride out in aid of Cancer Research UK

SATURDAY morning saw two local motorcyclists embark on an epic 2000-mile tour of Ireland’s coastline to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Patton Group employee Jim McKane and businessman Adrian Shaw of Shaw Automation set off from Patton Joinery outside Broughshane on June 11 and will return to the village after travelling through over 40 towns, north and south.

The pair have worked extremely hard to raise £2365.20 to date being supported by local businesses, colleagues and friends.

The Patton Group have helped by holding various small events that have added to this fantastic total.

Recently, a ‘Male Wellness Event’ was held at Patton Head Office where a presentation was given by a Cancer Research nurse to male staff from both the Ballymena office and from the site based teams.

The event provided valuable information on spotting the early signs of cancer and answered some common concerns.
