Fionnuala McEldowney, Marketing & Commercial Manager at Fairhill said: “Fairhill Traders are very proud to be supporting the Ballymena Five-Mile race in June as it promises to be a great event in the town for all ages and abilities.”

And, James Turtle of Ballymena Runners said: “This is an event designed for everyone. We would like to encourage families and organisations to take part in the Fun Run. Some may wish to use it to raise money for their favourite charity.

“The Fun Run course is approximately 2.5 miles, beginning and ending in the Town Centre. For those wanting more of a challenge, and for the more serious runner, the five-mile race is ideal. It is flat and fast, and would also suit runners who have been taking part in the Saturday morning Park Run at Ecos.

“We are delighted to be associated with our main sponsor for the event, Fairhill Shopping Centre and we would encourage all taking part to enter early to avoid disappointment - the first 400 entries receive a free T Shirt and Goodie bag”.

Amanda Bennett, Town Centre Manager added: “I am delighted to work with Ballymena Runners and Fairhill Shopping Centre to deliver the first event of this type in and around the town centre of Ballymena.

“Special thanks must go to PSNI for supporting us in working through some of the technical aspects of an event of this size. I hope to see a range of racers and fun runners making the most of this event, which is held on the eve of the Olympic Torch coming to Ballymena.”
