Fairytale production for local actress Jo

Ballymena actress Jo Donnelly is set to star in the MAC’s Christmas production of the much-loved fairytale, Rumpelstiltskin.

Jo will play Rumpelstiltskin and will be joined by local actors, Doireann McKenna (as Emily); Michael Lavery (as the King); alongside Tom Giles (as the Miller).

Jo trained at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and her theatre credits include the likes of ‘Mabel’, Kabosh Theatre Co; ‘Playhouse Creatures’ Bruiser Theatre; ‘Lanciatore’ Rawlife Theatre; ‘This is What We Sang’, Kabosh Theatre Company (Irish Tour and New York Irish Theatre Festival); ‘Chronicles of Long Kesh’, GBL Productions British and Australian Tours (Best Ensemble Theatre at The Edinburgh Festival 2009.

Her television credits include The Bill, Forest People (BBC), Over The Wall (BBC), You’re On (BBC) and Line of Duty (BBC).

This will be the MAC’s fourth Christmas show and the Classic Brothers Grimm fairytale will be given a magical MAC twist to deliver a spectacular live show.

Suitable for the whole family Rumpelstiltskin is packed with humour, live music and spectacular action.
