Can agricultural engineering help improve your farm efficiency?

Find out at the Farmers’ Lunch event which aims to promote agricultural engineering, showcase current innovations in agriculture and highlight their importance in improving farm efficiency.

The event is open to all farmers, agricultural engineers or those employed in or connected to the agriculture industry.

The event will conclude a schools and engineers programme called Ultimate Farming which is funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering and delivered by W5. The programme aims to encourage engineers involved in agricultural to engage with the public in order to raise awareness of its importance.

The programme also focuses on building engineers’ practical experience and knowledge while also highlighting to students and the public the engineering involved in the latest technology used in daily practises in agriculture.

Northern Ireland has been at the heart of major technological revolutions in the 20th century. That proud engineering history includes Harry Ferguson, the first man to fly in Ireland, but more importantly a man who shaped the future of agriculture with his innovations in tractors.

At the same time, we have a rich agricultural heritage which is linked to our culture and everyday lives. Today our society faces a new challenge: the ongoing mechanisation of agriculture and the impact of change.

Join W5 at Greenmount Campus Conference Centre on Wednesday, September 16, to experience a tour of Greenmount’s state-of-the-art Dairy Development Centre, Lely product showcase, inspiring examples of agriculture engineering and enjoy a free lunch. The Farmers lunch will also provide visitors with the opportunity to link and share knowledge with other farmers and engineers.

Numbers are limited therefore pre-booking is essential. For further information or to register for this free event email [email protected] or call 028 9046 7799 or 7836.
