Fourtowns children raise superb sum for Action MS

A FOUR-MILE walk in Portglenone Forest by pupils of Fourtowns Primary has raised almost £4,000 for Action MS.

The charity’s School Project’s Officer Carol Abrol visited the school on Friday, April 30, for a special Awards Presentation to mark the pupils’ tremendous fundraising efforts.

Some 186 pupils joined the Action MS Walks team at Portglenone Forest Park back in March for a walk raising a fantastic total of 3,892.66 for Action MS.

Paying tribute to the pupils, Mrs Abrol said: “Thanks to the generosity and support of schools like Fourtowns Primary School. the Walks for MS are at the core of Action MS support services.

“Action MS supports people living with multiple sclerosis, their families and carers in Northern Ireland. Fourtowns pupils really enjoyed their morning’s walk and we are very grateful for their generous support.”

She added: “The Walks for MS first started 30 years ago and have directly helped Action MS develop its support from a listening ear service to include support for children and families living with multiple sclerosis, support for young people, respite care through our Medicare Break Holidays and Digital Inclusion.”
