Frew welcomes upgrade plans for footpaths

BALLYMENA DUP Councillor and North Antrim MLA Paul Frew has welcomed the news he has received from Roads Service that they are planning to upgrade footpaths in and around the housing developments of Dunluce Park, Kenbane Crescent and Long Common.

“This is great news for the residents of this area,” he said.

“It was raised with me and Cllr John Carson on a number of occasions whilst out canvassing the area and we seen for ourselves that the footpaths are in bad condition in some places.

“Road Service have spoken to me and have told me that they are inserting into the works programme so I suppose it’s a case of waiting for the funding to emerge. However, Roads Service have confirmed that they will investigate the footpaths now in order to repair any parts that would be deemed dangerous or risky to walk on,” the councillor revealed.
