Function will aid Wilson’s African charity project

A BALLYMENA man’s legacy to a charity project in Africa will be celebrated at a special function this Friday night.

A dance, raffle and charity night in memory of Mr Wilson Mark will be held in Ballymena United Sports and Social Club (8pm).

Wilson was a much-loved figure in local business and sporting circles, prior to his passing in June of this year.

One of Wilson’s great interests was the work of the Golden Gate School Charity, which aims to build a primary school in Nigeria and following his death, Wilson’s family has carried on his good work in order to make his wishes come true.

Proceeds from the evening will go directly towards the project and the charity has said that a plaque denoting Wilson’s contribution to the project will be erected when the school building has been completed.

Admission is £5, which is payable at the door. Music will be provided by Solid Gold.

There will also be a raffle with a host of great prizes up for grabs and everyone is welcome on the night.
