Galgorm Chef cooks up Olympic feast on BBC’s Great British Menu

HEAD Chef at Galgorm Resort & Spa’s award winning River Room restaurant, Chris Bell, will once again showcase his culinary skills to the nation after being chosen to compete in BBC 2’s ‘Great British Menu’.

The Ballymena-born chef, who also featured in the popular BBC cooking programme in 2011, will compete against two other Northern Irish chefs as he bids to make it to the national final at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.

If Chris makes it to the final, he’ll battle it out with the winning chefs from seven other UK regions to prepare one of the four courses of ‘The Olympic Feast’. The Feast will be served to Olympians past and present, including Sir Steve Redgrave and Lord Sebastian Coe.

I’m incredibly proud that I’ve been chosen to represent Northern Ireland in the regional heats and hope to do my family, friends and everyone at Galgorm proud.”

Food fans who’d like to sample some of Chris’ culinary creativity should check out his special ‘Taste’ evenings, held at Galgorm Resort and Spa. The next event, ‘A Taste of Spring’, will be held at the award winning River Room on Tuesday, March 27.
