Gallipoli event at Hillstown Hall

Hillstown Rural Community Group is hosting a special Gallipoli Centenary event in Hillstown Orange Hall on Thursday, April 23 at 8pm.

Mr Nigel Henderson from History Hub Ulster will give a presentation on the campaign and the people from the local area who fought there.

Among those who will feature in the presentation are:- RSM P Mulholland DCM, Randalstown; Private William Andrew Jamison, Randalstown; Private John McShane, Ahoghill; Private James Neeson, Ahoghill; Private James Ramsey, Randalstown and Private William Torbitt, Ahoghill.

The Last Post will be played by Jordan Farndell on the Viola. A light supper will also be provided.

Nigel Henderson is a member of History Hub Ulster and, whilst his primary area of research is Belfast Presbyterians in the Great War, he has carried out freelance research work for local Councils, the Mid Antrim Museum Service and the Down County Museum. Nigel has amassed an archive of 12,000+ pictures of servicemen from local newspapers, which he makes available to local projects and relatives.
