Geoff Adams’ funeral tomorrow

Broughshane man Geoffrey Adams, who had been missing for almost a week, will be laid to rest in the village tomorrow (Tuesday).

Police searching for Mr Adams found his body in Antrim on Saturday morning.

The 53-year-old father-of-two walked out of Antrim Area Hospital on the afternoon of Sunday, February 8, and when last seen had been wearing a hospital gown and navy track bottoms.

Inspector Jim McGrillen confirmed yesterday (Sunday) that police searching for the missing man had discovered his body in the Steeple Road area of Antrim on Saturday, February 14.

It was also confirmed that family members had been informed and that a formal identification and post mortem examination had taken place.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Mr Adams had worked in Michelin until recently and was well known in the local area.

Following his funeral service on Tuesday afternoon, he will be interred at Broughshane New Cemetery.
