Get ready to explore at Ecos Nature Park

THE Ulster Wildlife Trust is inviting families along to its popular Ecos Nature Park this Saturday, July 31 for a fun-filled afternoon out to discover more about nature on their doorstep.

The Wildlife Explorer Day from 2pm to 4pm will be a chance to uncover the fascinating wildlife of this beautiful urban oasis and be wowed by wildflowers, bowled over by butterflies and dazzled by damselflies.

A variety of exciting activities will take place on the day including pond dipping, minibeast hunting and fun games to keep even the biggest nature nuts occupied.

Anna McCoy, Wildlife Watch Officer with the Ulster Wildlife Trust, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for young people and their families to get outside, have some fun and find out more about wildlife where they live. And, there’s no better place to be in summer than Ecos Nature Park. The meadows are ablaze with wildflowers and butterflies and damselflies are putting on a colourful show. The pond is also teaming with life, with frogs, newts and bugs aplenty! There’s so much going on, it promises to be a great day out for everyone."

This event is organised as part of Wildlife Watch – the Ulster Wildlife Trust’s junior branch. It is free of charge and is mainly aimed at young people aged between seven and 14, however everyone is welcome.

Booking is essential, so if you would like to go along contact the Ulster Wildlife Trust on 028 4483 0282 during office hours or email [email protected]
