Grove Veterinary Centre celebrates a great first year in Randalstown

THIS month Grove Veterinary Centre celebrate the one year anniversary of the opening of their branch practice in Randalstown.

At the main practice premises in Ballymena, Grove Vets’ aim has always been to provide an affordable, efficient and caring service to our clients and their pets, utilising the highest standards of equipment and expertise.

“We hope that we have extended this to our new clients from the Randalstown area over the past twelve months,” says vet Mark McCracken.

“Historically, a number of clients had regularly made the journey to Ballymena from the Randalstown, Portglenone and Toome areas to enable us to treat their pets and so it seemed a logical progression to open a branch practice in the locality for their convenience and also to extend our professional services to new clients from these areas,” said Mark.

“The practice also has a number of farming clients in the locality and the Randalstown branch provides a convenient port of call for their veterinary needs, carrying as it does a fully stocked farm animal pharmacy”.

Services offered at the practice include vaccinations, microchipping, all aspects of medical and surgical care, dentistry, cancer investigation and management, pet passports, parasitic treatments, pet food and advice on breeding, behavioural problems and pet insurance.

The Randalstown practice is fully equipped so that a high standard of investigative and surgical work can be performed on site.

Mark said: “If your pet is ill or requires surgery, we realise that this is a stressful time for owners and will endeavour to discuss all options and procedures with you thoroughly beforehand.

“This is in order to help you make informed choices about the care of your pet. We are careful to use the most up to date drugs and techniques and ensure that anaesthetics are made as safe as possible”.

For clients’ peace of mind, Grove Vets provide a 24 hour emergency service, 365 days per year. - If your pet becomes ill outside of normal working hours, then there is always a vet available (on the normal telephone number) for the provision of advice or treatment.

“In order to promote keeping our clients’ pets healthy, we have organised a number of promotions which have run at various times throughout the past year,” said Mark.

“We normally advertise these promotions in the local press and also on our website- www.grovevets.co.uk. Over the past 12 months, these have included an arthritis awareness campaign, free dental check ups, and free weight watcher advice for overweight pets”.

The practice is open Mon-Thurs 9.00am to 1.00pm and 3.00pm-6.30pm and on Friday mornings from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm, although the phones are staffed at all times in case of emergencies or clients seeking advice.

To ensure a good service to their clients, Grove Vets provide consultations and surgeries on an appointment only basis.

“This minimises waiting times for clients and means that clients can arrange appointments with the same vet each time so that we can provide continuity of care,” said Mark.
