Harryville meeting over anti-social behaviour

Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector, Heather Scott said : “ Officers are aware of this issue and welcome the opportunity to meet with members of the public to discuss the matter and to assure them that officers are addressing the problem.

“It also affords us the chance to listen to people’s concerns and to take information forward to assist us in directing our resources appropriately.”

Inspector Scott said police had recently stepped up patrolling in the area and would continue to work with community representatives in a bid to stop unruly behaviour.

And she added: “ I would also like to appeal to members of the community to ensure their children are not involved in activity which could lead them into serious trouble. W

“e are already dealing with a number of youths through our Youth Diversion Officer, and I feel it is very important for children to realise that if they are arrested and prosecuted for a criminal offence connected to anti-social behaviour, their future could be seriously affected.

“I would also stress to residents that by reporting incidents of anti-social behaviour to police as they occur our chances of preventing and detecting crimes increase greatly. Anyone with any information or concerns should contact police in Ballymena on 101.”
