Health & Happiness workshop

THE Art of Living Foundation organised its first ever event in Ballymena at the Braid on October 13 with great success.

Participants from all walks of life attended the two-hour power packed workshop on Health and Happiness through ‘Breathing, Yoga, Meditation and Practical Wisdom on Mind’.

Launching the event, Ballymena Mayor Alderman P.J. McAvoy said: “This initiative aims to promote healthy living, focusing on mind and body and many local people will undoubtedly benefit from their workshops and courses. I’d like to give my support to ‘The Art of Living’ in all that they do.”

The Mayor also showed an interest in exploring areas where Council could work with the Art of Living to promote peace, harmony and well being in the region.
The Foundation, which is a non-profit, humanitarian, educational, volunteer based organisation with presence in more than 150 countries. received very encouraging feedback, too, from attendees.
The Foundationi is engaged in building stress-free, violence-free society and aims to bring peace at individual level through various stress management programmes and bring social transformation around the world through humanitarian projects.

The Art of Living Foundation is offering a weekend ‘Art of Breathing ‘ programme in Ballymena from November 2-4 (Friday 6:30pm to 9:30pm and Sat/Sun 10am-4pm).

The programme gives participants the practical knowledge and techniques to unlock their deepest potential and bring fullness to life.

The masterpiece of the Art of Breathing Course is a powerful breathing-based technique called Sudarshan Kriya, or the healing breath. Sudarshan Kriya incorporates specific natural rhythms of breath to release stress and bring the mind to the present moment. The course also includes other breathing techniques, meditation, low-impact yoga, and skills for dealing effectively with challenging emotions and situations.
According to the Foundation, several independent studies on the numerous mental and physical health benefits of the course have been published in international peer-reviewed journals and confirm what participants commonly report.
