Hearing Loss meeting date

ACTION on Hearing Loss, the new name for RNID, are welcoming people to join them in Ballymena Central Library on Thursday, June 28, from 2.30pm-4pm.

Action on Hearing Loss are working towards a world where hearing loss doesn’t limit or label people, where tinnitus is silenced and where people value and look after their hearing.

In order to achieve this they are looking to increase their volunteers within the Ballymena area.

Judith Boyd, the Regional Volunteer Manager, said: “Volunteers are an integral part of the work of Action on Hearing Loss, providing vital support and information to individuals with hearing loss and in raising important funds and campaigning”.

“We would be delighted to talk to anyone who would be interested in joining our volunteering team.

With a range of volunteer roles available, from hearing aid support to fundraiser, there are many different ways you can help, which will be explained further on Thursday.

“Also if you are between 16 and 25 and looking to make your CV stand out, Action on Hearing Loss offer the Millennium Volunteers scheme, where young volunteers are recognised and rewarded with certificates from the Department of Education on 50, 100 and 200 hours.

Scott Cooper (Volunteer Now) added: ““Volunteering is a great way for people to stay healthy and active as they grow older, or for younger people it is a chance to gain experience and make a difference as they look to launch or further their careers”.
