Mayor Wales pointed out that the 76-year-old Ballymena man, who has only been powerlifting for a year, lifted the title in the recent Irish Drug Free Powerlifting Federation (IDFPA) National Deadlift championships in Cork, where he lifted 210kgs – setting the new world record.
