Hillstown Orange Hall opens

This Saturday, September 20 sees the official opening of the new Orange Hall at Hillstown, by the local Lodge Hillstown LOL 176.

The new hall has been built on the site of the previous hall near Whitesides Corner

The Opening Ceremony will take place at 2.30pm with brethren assembling at Whitesides Corner at 2pm for the short parade to the hall.

The old two storey hall was demolished in December 2012 and the new one level hall was built in 2013/14.

The hall will act as a focal point for the local community with various activities and events planned for the future.

A spokesperson for the Lodge said that building the new hall has taken quite a bit of time, effort and finance to get to this stage however it will be an excellent facility for the local community where various functions and activities will be hosted.

The hall provides the opportunity for young and old from the local community to meet together in a safe, welcoming and friendly environment.
