Housing Executive gives tenants a voice

Social housing tenants in the Ballymena area will be offered a greater say in the future of their neighbourhoods with the creation of new local tenant-led panels by the Housing Executive.

Tenant Scrutiny Panels are being set up across N.I. giving NIHE tenants a voice to ensure that local offices are delivering the services required in their areas and to the level of quality expected by tenants.

In the East, which encompasses Ballymena, a panel from across the area will scrutinise services

they feel are most important to tenants in the coming year.

Thomas Balmer and Roy Heron are the representatives for the Ballymena area on the group which will meet three times a year.

Mairead Myles Davey, Area Manager for the East, said the panels will ensure that NIHE works in an active and meaningful partnership with communities.
