Howard’s way leads to Brazil from Dunclug

DUNCLUG Partnership has a new chairperson as Howard Bailey is swapping Ballymena for Brazil due to work commitments.

Howard had been chairperson for the last 21 months and was well respected by all associated with the partnership, he is now taking up a position in Brazil with his employers Michelin.

Colum Best project manager with the Dunclug Partnership said: “Howard has as chairman been very committed to the aims and objectives of the partnership and has shown great leadership skills.

“Over the last years Dunclug has seen a lot of changes for the better and the partnership should be congratulated for the work they have achieved in conjunction with the statutory agencies.On behalf of the partnership I wish Howard the very best in his move to Brazil.

“I do not know how long Howard will be away but hopefully if and when he returns he will offer his skills once again in some capacity to the partnership.

Alderman PJ McAvoy will now take up the role of chairperson and Tony Carlin is now vice chairperson.

“I am pleased to see that Alderman P.J McAvoy has accepted the position of chairperson as he had previously chaired the partnership and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will be of great value to the Dunclug Partnership.

“It is also good to see that local residents are well represented on the partnership with Tony Carlin being elected as vice chairperson.”
