A £190,000 structural maintenance scheme for the B52 Largy Road, Portglenone is set to get underway on Monday, October 10.
The resurfacing scheme from Aughnahoy Road to Carnearney Road will provide 1.5kilometres of new asphalt road surface. Work is expected to be complete on Friday 21 October.
Minister Chris Hazzard said: “Largy Road serves as an important rural link between Portglenone and Randalstown. This scheme will benefit the local community and visitors to the area for many years to come. By significantly improving the road service it will also help reduce ongoing maintenance costs.”
To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors it will be necessary to introduce temporary traffic management arrangements and diversionary routes.
The Department has planned the works operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise any inconvenience however, drivers should expect delays and are advise to allow additional time when travelling in the area.
The planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions.
