Last chance to sign up for Walk Ten for Marie Curie Cancer Care

WITH just three weeks to go until Walk Ten at Stormont Estate on Friday, August 31, it’s still not too late to sign up and help Marie Curie Nurses provide more free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes & at the Marie Curie Hospice in Belfast.

Walk Ten is a series of unique 10k summer evening walks followed by celebrations taking place at beautiful venues across the UK.

Following the walk around the Estate, which starts at 6pm, there will be fireworks, music by U105 and a picnic to celebrate the work of Marie Curie Nurses. Registration is £10 per person in advance (children go free) and £20 to register on the night. Everyone is encouraged to raise as much as they can to help Marie Curie Nurses provide more free care to people with terminal illnesses locally.

Suzy McIlveen, Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Fundraising Events Manager for Northern Ireland said: “There’s been a really enthusiastic response to Walk Ten and there’s still time for anyone who hasn’t registered to sign up. People taking part can expect a fun evening in the wonderful surroundings of Stormont Estate. All the funds raised by participants will help Marie Curie Nurses to provide more care to local people with terminal illnesses and we’d encourage everyone taking part to raise as much as they can.”
