Last Saturday: Co. Antrim 'Black' to march in town

EIGHTY preceptories and 78 bands will be in Ballymena for the Last Saturday demonstrations of the Royal Black Institution, on Saturday, August 28.

Ballymena was also the location for the Last Saturday demonstration in 2003.

Preceptories from Lisburn, Ballymena, Antrim, Larne, Ballymoney and Ballyclare, will take part in the procession, which begins at 12.30pm.

The procession begins at Ballymena Showgrounds and goes via Warden Street, Broughshane Street, Braodway, Church Street, Bridge Street, Harryville Bridge, Queen Street, Antrim Road, Ballee Road West to Ballee Playing Fields.

The platform proceedings there will begin at 3pm.

The chairman will be John Millikin, Worshipful District Master of Ballymena District and the service will be conducted by Rev. Thomas Greer.
