I wish to thank you and the staff of the Times for the excellent support and coverage you have given the Lions Club throughout the last year and indeed over a lengthy period of years. This is very much appreciated and I believe has helped the club to survive and indeed contributed to the public knowing what the club undertakes in relation to its work within the community helping needy people.

This has been a big year for us in so many ways culminating in our Tribute Dinner, a copy

programme with our new information leaflet highlights our membership drive to recruit new members.

In this we were very successful in getting four new members since last October but we would like to get the membership up to around 18 at least (it is only 14 at present, 10 men and 4 ladies) Our final big event in my year as president has been the Mayor’s reception in the Braid as reported in the Times recently.

I also congratulate you on your first class coverage of the local news and excellent supplement ‘Past Times’ that looks back and records scenes of the older Ballymena- well done and this is one to keep.
