Living our faith can be both quite challenging and wonderful and next week there will be an opportunity in Ballymena to explore it.
Each year in the town a Round-Table gathering is held in The Parish Centre, All Saints Church, at which those who attend consider some aspect of faith.
This year the topic will be ‘Living Fair: Go Proclaim the Gospel” and this will be explored in the Parish Centre on June 6, from 1.45-5pm.
The excellent keynote speaker this year is noted media commentator, speaker, journalist and teacher, Breda O’Brien, and the other speakers will be Baroness Nuala O’Loan and Parish Priest, Fr Patrick Delargy.
Breda, a married mother of four, is an Irish Times and Irish Catholic journalist, as well as being a teacher of Religious Education in a secondary school.
The organisers hope that this meeting, which will be facilitated by Janice McKeith, will be an occasion for people to explore ways in which each of us can most effectively and usefully put all our talents at the service of the Gospel and the Church, and share our experiences of how we respond to the call to ‘Go and Proclaim the Gospel’. There will be plenty of opportunity, in small groups, to talk (if people want to) and to listen to others talk about living faith and there will be time for questions to the speakers and general discussion.
There will be no charge and tea/coffee and tray-bakes will be served to all. There will be a basket for donations to help cover the costs of the event.
A spokesperson for the round-table event, which is open to all, said: “Why not take this opportunity to visit Ballymena for the day, shop in the morning and come to the round-table gathering in the afternoon, or just spend a few hours in the company of others thinking about being a Christian and living the Good News?”
