Magazine on way to local NIHE tenants

Ballymena Housing Executive tenants will be posted a copy of the organisation’s annual magazine this month.

Housing News, which is also available in audio, has lots of useful information and advice for NIHE tenants on issues such as safety in the home, cold weather advice, condensation, home insurance, bogus callers, anti-social behaviour, avoiding debt and rent arrears.

In the East edition, a number of events that have occurred in the area have been profiled including newbuilds at the former St Patrick’s Barracks in Ballymena.

NIHE Chairman Donald Hoodless, said: “The scale of the Housing Executive work across Northern Ireland should not be understated. Last year, 353,000 people visited our local offices, we assisted 166,000 tenants with Housing Benefit and helped a further 24,000 people through our Supporting People Programme.

“It remains the Housing Executive’s goal to ensure that everyone has access to a good affordable home in a safe and healthy environment. However, while the fabric of our homes is important, considerable time and effort needs to be spent on encouraging good community relationships and improving community safety.”
