‘Making Moves’ for people in need

Starting on Tuesday, January 14, the Making Moves project will bring a range of support and advice services together under one roof every week to assist those most in need.

Taking part in the pilot project are NIHE, the Simon Community, Source Training, the Hope Centre, CAB, the Lighthouse Hostel, Vineyard Compassion, Triangle and the Careers Service.

The clinic will take place every following Tuesday afternoon from 1pm-2pm and people can be referred to it by any of the member organisations or can drop into any session.

NIHE’s East Area Manager, Mairead Myles Davey said the project “aims to give practical, relevant and immediate face-to-face support and advice at one location.”

Advice will be available from - NIHE staff on housing, temp. accommodation & tenancy sustainment; Triangle on floating support services & tenancy matters; Simon Community on accommodation, rent deposit bond schemes & harm reduction programmes; the Lighthouse Hostel on accommodation & supported living; The Vineyard Compassion on emergency provisions, food parcels, clothing & household furniture; The Hope Centre on family and individual support, rehabilitation, counselling & complimentary therapies; and from Source and the Careers Service on training, education, new skills & employment.
