Man charged with drugs offences

Police have charged a 50-year-old man with drugs offences following the search of a house at Rathlin Drive in Ballymena on Friday evening, March 6.

Speaking on Monday, Chief Inspector Stephen McCauley said: “Officers seized amphetamine with a street value of around £900 from the house”.

The Chief Inspector said the man has been charged with possession of a class B drug with intent to supply and two counts of possession of a class B drug and is due to appear in Ballymena Magistrates’ Court next month.

It was also pointed out that, as is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
