Man suffers head injuries after hammer attack

A man in his 20s has suffered head injuries following an assault in Kells on Sunday, March 12.

Two men have been arrested following the incident in the Glenaan Park area of the village.

It is understood the victim was attacked with a hammer at approximately 7pm.

A police spokesperson said the man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two males aged 20 and 24 were detained following the incident and remain in police custody.

A 41-year-old man was also arrested for assault on police and obstructing police. He has been charged with these offences and is set to appear in court on April 6.
