Man treated for burns following house fire

A man was treated for burns following a house fire yesterday evening.

Commenting on the incident, a Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesperson said: “NIFRS responded to a fire at a mid-terraced house at Castle Street, Glenarm, Carnlough. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a CO extinguisher to deal with the oven fire.

“Crews ventilated the smoke from the premises. A 28-year-old man was treated by FRS for burns to arm and leg at the scene. Fire crews from Carnlough and Larne stations attended the incident.”

The Times understands the incident took place at approximately 8pm.
