The auction will take place in the Adair Arms Hotel, with kind permission of the management, on May 30 and is being organised in tandem with a charity football match at the Showgrounds’ 3G pitch at noon on May 24, with proceeds from both going to ‘Children in Need’.

Auction items, which also include a personalised shirt signed by Wayne Rooney, will be sold to the highest bidder. The evening will also feature entertainment by ‘Pro sounds NI’ and a raffle for a host of other donations including vouchers for the New Manley and Millside restaurants, tubs of sweets from Cone Zone (Tower Centre) and a hamper from Boots (Fairhill Centre).

Organiser Jason McPeake, a customer advisor with Ballymena Halifax, has thanked everyone who has provided sponsorship, donations or other support for the auction or the match which will see the ‘Pudsey Allstars’ take on ‘Pudsey Athletic’.

Each year, the building society encourages staff to fundraise for their chosen charity and rising to that call, Jason has gathered an enthusiastic bunch of amateur players to join in a sponsored 11-a-side game of football.

Jason would very much like to hear from other businesses or individuals who would like to support the match or auction and can be contacted on 07756785574.
