ME and Fibromyalgia Awareness Day planned

BALLYMENA ME & Fibromyalgia Support Group will be hosting an awareness event as part of the International ME & FMS Awareness Day.

The event will be held on Monday, May 10, 11.00am – 1.00pm at Montgomery’s, Ballymoney Street, Ballymena.

It is estimated that there are approximately 7000 ME patients in Northern Ireland and up to 3% of the population suffer from Fibromyalgia. Those who suffer from the conditions have numerous symptoms that can come and go unpredictably and vary in severity. The conditions not only have a physical impact on the sufferer; they take a toll on their emotional, financial and social well-being. Often those affected by the conditions, including family, friends and carers feel very alone and know little about the condition or how to manage day-to-day living.

Ballymena ME & Fibromyalgia Support Group was established in 2006 to provide a much needed service to those affected by ME and Fibromyalgia. By holding monthly meetings set in a comfortable and relaxed environment we aim to provide advice, friendship, encouragement and most importantly an empathetic ear.
